Taylor's Graduate Capabilities

1) Discipline Specific Knowledge

Building Economics is an entire new subject for me and I came to have more comprehensive understanding about cost analysis and cost index, as well as construction cost control. The most significant thing I have learnt in BE is also the power of compound interest and the time value of money!

2) Thinking and Problem Solving Skills

Having the opportunity to work with Sem 6 seniors during the Building Economics Workshop allowed me to learn a lot from them. I believe that analytical and critical thinking skills have developed throughout the process while help us to evaluate the problem and to make decisions. A logical and methodical approach is useful in circumstances when we will need to draw on what we have learnt to identify solutions of a practical or technical nature. In other situations, creativity or lateral thinking is also necessary for us to come up with ideas for resolving the problem and find fresh approaches.
